Strada dei Santuari, Telegrafo – Volastra

Trail 530, known as the Strada dei Santuari, is one of the most panoramic and accessible itineraries in the Cinque Terre. It connects Colle del Telegrafo with Volastra along a wide route.

Unlike the trails that climb directly from the villages, trail 530 is a horizontal route, crossing the hillside landscape without major elevation changes. This makes it suitable also for those looking for a less physically demanding walk, while still being immersed in the natural setting of the Park.

The route follows a dirt road and partly paved track, originally used as a connection between the sanctuaries and the villages before the coastal road was built. Even today, it remains one of the main areas of the local hiking network.

Along the route, olive groves and pine and chestnut woods alternate with panoramic openings over the coast and the sea. The trail passes above the Sanctuary of Montenero and leads to Volastra, where the Sanctuary of Nostra Signora della Salute is located.

One of the most important features of trail 530 is the presence of numerous junctions with other paths: the vertical trails coming from the villages connect to it along the route, such as trail 501 from Riomaggiore, trails 502 and 506 from Manarola, as well as other secondary itineraries. This makes it a key axis for creating longer routes and circular walks.

The trail is long but not particularly demanding, with limited slopes and generally easy terrain. It is therefore suitable also for those not used to mountain routes, provided they have good walking endurance.
